Dave Martin

Proprietor

Dave bought Central Motors in 1967 and has, over the years, expanded it to its present location at St Ann's Chapel, Gunnislake. Together with his sons Glen and Dean, Central Motors is run as a family business. Since the end of 2012 Glen and Dean have been looking after the day to day running of the business.

Dean Martin

Car Sales / Shop Manager

Dean has worked in the car sales department for many years and gained experience in all aspects of buying and selling motor cars. Any enquiries relating to sales will be dealt with by him. Dean also oversees the operation of our forecourt shop.

Glen Martin

Workshop Manager / Technician / MOT Tester

Glen joined Central Motors straight from school and worked his way through his apprenticeship to achieve his Btec and NVQ level 3 qualifications and is an MOT site manager, tester and QC. Glen can be found in our reception carrying out all tasks from estimating, preparing job cards, invoicing work on completion to booking appointments or ordering parts. Glen also oversees the running of our workshop and quality control schemes / Motor Industry Code of Practice accreditation.

Paul Engelfield

Service Manager, MOT Tester & Technician

Paul has spent many years in the motor trade having trained in both Volvo and Fiat dealerships. His passion for motorsport led to him competing in hill climbs and sprints with Triumph and Ford vehicles. Paul ran his own successful garage for eighteen years before selling and moving to live in France. He brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to Central Motors and continues to attend training courses to keep up with the latest technology.

Gary Peters

Workshop Technician

Gary joined our team in 1995. He is an ATA Accredited Automotive Technician and is fully competent to work on all makes of cars and light commercial vehicles.

Mat Earnshaw

Workshop Technician

Mat joined Central Motors in August 2021 & completed his last year of training with us to gained his NVQ qualifications at Plymouth College. Mat enjoys fishing, kayaking, mountain biking and climbing.

Gavin Dart

Workshop Technician / MOT Tester

Gavin trained with a Ford Main Dealership in London. After moving to the west country he has worked for other Ford dealerships, Vosper’s and Spry’s of Launceston. His interests include American cars, growing orchids and walking the dogs.

Sam Engelfield

Receptionist / Adviser

Sam has many years of experience in the motor trade and will often be the 1st point of contact to arrange booking an appointment. She will advise on the type of service required, and take your payment when the job is complete. The service reception phone number is 01822 832432.

Tracy Martin

Administrator

Tracy maintains our purchase/sales ledgers, payroll and banking records and the general administration of a very busy garage. Tracy has also been instrumental in overseeing many of the improvements to our shop and back office. You will often find Tracy serving in our shop too.

The Shop team

Our brilliant shop staff are Stef and Tracy who work a shift pattern to enable Central Motors to provide a service to our customers. Holiday and sickness cover is provided by Terry who steps in, often at short notice, to keep the wheels turning. Nigel Cunningham will be found carrying out many maintenance tasks in all our departments.
